Deluxe Awarded NFL Distribution Contract

News Image
Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. (Deluxe) has been awarded a three-year digital content distribution contract by MP & Silva to deliver live NFL games to broadcasters throughout Europe.

The company's IP-based platform MediaCloud is an IP distribution network that provides a fully managed digital content exchange platform for broadcasters and content owners to share live video around the world. MediaCloud enables European broadcasters to deliver NFL games throughout the region.

The agreement will see Deluxe deliver select NFL regular season games – up to seven games per week, as well as all play-off games, and the Super Bowl. The technology can distribute the regular season games simultaneously, and has the capacity to extend to additional games simultaneously as required by the NFL and MP & Silva. It will also deliver NFL RedZone and other NFL content and media assets for use in highlights packages.

The games will be managed and delivered by Deluxe's Broadcast Delivery Network (BDN), a software-based content delivery platform that enables high quality video delivery and control of any live broadcast stream – including 4K – to any Deluxe-registered destination point. It is more cost-effective than satellite and is dependable with high availability, lower latency, and seamless switching between dual resilient video paths. Deluxe's global media centres monitor and manage all broadcasts to ensure availability of content and the best viewing experience for audiences worldwide.

"Deluxe's technology enables the NFL to bring our games to our existing and future European fans in a high quality and cost-effective way," said Jeff Lombardi, Senior Director – International Operations of NFL. "I have seen the quality and reliability first-hand from our offices at NFL Films using Deluxe MediaCloud."

"This partnership with MP & Silva to distribute live NFL action throughout Europe utilizes our technology to meet the growing demands of international audiences," added Maurizio Cimelli, Managing Director of Deluxe MediaCloud. "Deluxe allows customers to share live video signals between points anywhere in the world, with unmatched quality, reliability and security. In addition to MP & Silva, we serve major customers such as broadcasters, content owners and distribution platforms – and the network is growing all the time. Supporting the stringent requirements of prestigious brands such as the NFL is exactly what MediaCloud was developed for."

"We see Deluxe's technology solution as the future of our content delivery," said Damon Garwood, MD Digital and Technology Services from MP & Silva. "MediaCloud is innovative, reliable, and cost-effective. Ultimately, we believe working with Deluxe will enable us to enhance our clients' content into new territories whilst creating synergies for our properties. We're excited about this driving further business benefits through our partnership and extending our ability to deliver any content to anywhere in the world to the highest quality."
