As their UK representative, professional sound distributor, Raycom has announced the upgrade of Wisycom's popular MTP41 single battery miniature radio microphone transmitter.

The new MTP41S now boasts a feature set matching that of its bigger brother, the MTP40S, including, most importantly, a hardware limiter.

The limiter acts as a variable attenuator maintaining a distortion of >0.3%, without compromising audio quality.

Peak audio levels are controlled better with the advancement of the limiter (30dB above peak), while the device transmits a digitally modulated sub-carrier, suitable for tone-squelch operating, remote battery monitoring and optional PTT [push to talk] operation.

The MTP41S, like the majority of Wisycom wireless transmitters, offers a huge 232MHz bandwidth in three block options covering the 470/798MHz range, providing a huge number of frequency choices.

Set-up is easy and fast via an OLED display, a gain/frequency button and a 'joggle' selector. Users also benefit from a selectable multi-companding system offering modes optimised for noise or voice.

Power options are currently a single AA Alkaline, rechargeable NiMH or Lithium battery, providing up to 7 hours constant use, however a battery eliminator providing a permanent DC feed is under development and due for release soon.

MTP41's ultra compact design and tough aluminum construction has made it a firm favourite in the film and broadcast industry, the feature upgrades present in the MTP41S will serve to continue its popularity whilst gaining attention from users looking for a smaller version of the MTP40S.
