Digigram and The Venetian hook up to create 'musica bella'

The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas has chosen Digigram Audio Manager and NCX Networked Audio Terminals to distribute background music over the existing Ethernet network throughout the casino.
"We were looking for a system that worked operationally, allowed flexibility and featured cost effectiveness, and the Digigram solution had it all," said Paul Vella, engineering supervisor at the Venetian Resort.
The flexibility of Digigram Audio Manager allows the hotel to control the background music to reflect situations and demographics that change by the day or by the hour in the various locations of the of the $1.5 billion complex: piping in Italian music to the Mall/Grand Canal shopping area, playing Top 40 music in the gaming areas, featuring classical music in the registration area and guest elevators, or targeting commercial advertisements to the entrances, moving walkways and parking areas.
Digigram Audio Manager is a software suite for A-to-Z management of multizone audio installations, including play list creation, sound library management, and signal routing. NCX Networked Audio Terminals, which are hooked into the Venetian's existing Ethernet, are used as I/O hardware. The audio is streamed via the network legacy from a central database to the audio terminals in the different areas. Using a TCI/IP interface, Audio Manager can remotely control the system from anywhere in the network.
