Geevs plays out commercials for HK Cable TV

HK Cable TV has installed two Geevs Servers from Gee Broadcast in their Hong Kong facility for commercial playout. The Geevs servers were supplied through Macostar who are Gee Broadcast’s distributors for China.
The two Geevs Servers provide up to 10 playout channels allowing HK Cable TV to insert local commercial breaks on their Simple Satellite Acquired channels. The two servers are each equipped with 700Gbytes of RAID storage and the media is mirrored between the two servers using the Geevs Replicate option. In this way if one server is down for maintenance, the other can provide the necessary outputs.
The playout is organised using Geevs Autorun which provides a user friendly drag and drop interface. Each break is automatically triggered by GPI’s to play as required.
