Chyron unveils C-Mix layering for Duet

Chyron, a leading developer of television broadcast solutions, will make the first international showing of C-Mix, a powerful new 1 RU multi-layer video mixer designed for use with Chyron’s Duet line of character generators at IBC in Amsterdam.
C-Mix gives the Duet LEX the ability to mix and layer up to four video and key input pairs, plus programme video in any order within the mixer. All mixer settings are controlled by the Lyric timeline, and can be varied as part of animation.
When used in Downstream Mode, the output of each mixer is fed to one of two Programme Keyers which overlays the graphics on Programme Video. The Programme Video and Mix Video can be enabled and disabled by Lyric via the USB Bus.
Each output of the Programme Keyers has SDI Video and Key Out plus an analogue composite video monitoring output for the video channel (not broadcast quality). The C-Mix also has a bypass relay so program video is not lost in case of a hardware failure.
The available effects include Cut, Dissolve, and Fade, as well as special preview/air effects such as; Cut+Swap, Dissolve+Swap, and Fade+Swap. All effects are software selectable.
The CMIX can be optionally genlocked to the SDI Programme Video Input or to an Analogue Composite Video black burst reference signal. The unit may be controlled by the USB bus within Lyric, or by a simple user interface. C-Mix commands can be animated on the timeline and stored in a Lyric message for easy playback. It can also be used as a stand-alone mixer with ActiveX program control.
