Thomson announce Chinese contracts for GVG

Thomson have announced more than $6 million in orders for its Grass Valley line of digital broadcast equipment from key Chinese media leaders, including China's largest broadcaster, CCTV, and several of the nation's largest outside broadcast (OB) production companies.
The contracts include orders from Beijing Gension Co. Ltd.; CCTV, in Beijing; Guang Dong Southern TV, in Guang Dong Province; HeNan TV, located in HeNan Province; WuHan TV, in WuHan; and, XiangFan TV, in HuBei Province.
Thomson were also awarded two Best-in-Show awards at the annual BIRTV (Beijing International Radio TV & Film Equipment) Exhibition, which took place August 25-28 in Beijing.
Awards were given for the Grass Valley M-Series iVDR (intelligent video digital recorder, a VTR replacement product and multiple-industry award winner), and the Grass Valley LDK6000 MkII Worldcam Camera, which has been broadly adopted for multi-format acquisition by broadcast and outside broadcast (mobile) production leaders worldwide.
