FCC Chairman To Speak At NAB

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler has been announced as a speaker at this year's NAB show.

Mr Wheeler's address will be held Wednesday April 15 09:00-10:00 and is expected to provide insight into the FCC’s policy and regulatory objectives related to broadcasting, technology and communications law.

Mr Wheeler became the 31st Chairman of the FCC on November 4, 2013. He was appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate.

Prior to joining the FCC, Mr Wheeler was Managing Director at Core Capital Partners, a venture capital firm investing in early stage IP-based companies. He also served as President and CEO of Shiloh Group, LLC, a strategy development and private investment company specialising in telecommunications services.

Mr Wheeler is co-founder of SmartBrief, the internet's largest electronic information service for vertical markets. From 1976 to 1984, he was associated with the National Cable Television Association (NCTA), where he was President and CEO from 1979 to 1984.

From 1992 to 2004, Mr Wheeler served as president and CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA).
