SSL launch analogue console

Solid State Logic (SSL) have announced the introduction of the XL 9000 K Series – the company's first analogue console to provide dual benefits of a full 5.1 surround architecture and the increased bandwidth and resolution needed for DVD-Audio and SACD.
The product provides improved audio quality and multi-channel surround capabilities, and a mass of features including: six-channel monitor insert; integral LFE filtering for Dolby and DTS encoding; UltiPan automated surround panning; and advanced photo-realistic Total Recall.
The XL also provides enhanced surround efficiency within the analogue domain. For moving projects into stereo and a stereo downmix output to allow stereo mixes to be quickly generated from a 5.1 mix.
The product's K series Automation Computer offers high-speed control of all automated functions and On-Line Mix Compare allows on-demand auditioning of up to six different passes without interruption to playback. The enhanced graphics and flat-screen TFT display have been designed to maximise graphics capability and the X-VGA input enables switchable display of editor and workstation output.
