Franchises receive Film Council extension
The Film Council have extended the franchise contracts for The Film Consortium and Pathé Pictures for six months so the two companies can see projects through to completion and build on the strength of their current slates.
Both companies are nearing the end of their six-year contract which were originally set up in 1997 during the tenure of the Arts Council of England over Lottery investment in films. Since its inception in April 2000, the Film Council has administrated the applications for funding from the franchise companies.
The Film Consortium's (TFC) contract was due to end on 11 September and Pathé Pictures's contract was due to end on 14 October.
