BAL expands analogue distributor range

BAL Broadcast's Analogue Distributor product range has been augmented to allow increased compatibility with existing installations.
The company recognises that many users still need analogue video and audio distribution products and affirms BAL's commitment to supporting the sector.
The BAL 421-UMD borrows from Serial Digital Video sources and combines them a single quad-split picture. The new UMD option retains the superior picture quality of the original BAL 421 and adds the ability to put Under-Monitor Display titles within the pictures - which respond automatically using an industry standard protocol.
Presentation equipment has been added to the extensive range of products, and includes Logo Generators, Presentation Mixers and Clocks. The products are all Serial Digital Video products with 10-bit processing throughout contributing to the performance.
The stand-alone range of digital interface products has been extended by the introduction of the BAL DEXO1A – which extracts AES/EBU audio from SDV. Also released is the BAL DEMO1A that allows AES/EBU audio to be embedded into SDV. The SDV to Fibre Optic stand-alone boxes provide low-cost point-to-point transmission over multi-fibre.
The company's SDV Router – BAL 4002 – can provide a flexible modular router which is defined in blocks of four inputs or outputs from 4x4 to the maximum 32x32. When coupled with the BAL 4740-01 Switch Panel, an entry-level SDV switching system can be quickly configured.
