PROVYS Arms Swiss Broadcasters

News Image
PROVYS, the software house famous for its advanced broadcast and media management systems, along with Swiss partner AVC-Systems AG, have won a contract to supply TV 24 with a solution to control their transmission planning and all related processes.

TV 24 is a new national television station for Switzerland based in Zurich. The area comprises 6.9 million people in 3.3 million households. TV 24 cooperates closely with TeleZüri, TeleBärn and Tele M1, the main private local TV Stations in Switzerland, covering more than four million people. All four stations are part of the AZ Media Group.
PROVYS will provide a solution for all four TV channels of the group, including a new channel coming soon. Among the features of the implemented PROVYS traffic system will be:

• A centralised programme catalogue that will simplify the transmission planning and microscheduling, and allow the acquired metadata to be automatically reused within the entire content lifecycle.

• Weekly plans and automated EPG generation, promotion campaigns and commercials to join the playlists, auto-planning of channel branding elements, and tight integration with the already installed Aveco Astra playout automation.

• The PROVYS media management system, featuring low-res previewing, file segmentation and automatic takeover of media information such as time-codes, titles or other technical metadata that are embedded in the files.

• Respecting local national specifics such as Suissa used music reporting, Publicadata viewing statistics or Publiplan advertisement sales integration, PROVYS will automate the processes and dramatically reduce the risk of human error and the current staff workload.

"For the future growth of our television stations, we need an efficient and cost-effective software solution to meet our ambitious growth plans. With PROVYS and their local representative AVC System AG, we are confident of achieving these challenging goals.
"In brief, we have found an integrated solution that automates and simplifies our processes, and has the ability to grow with us", said Peter Canale, Technical Director of TV AZ Medien AG.
"PROVYS is exactly what the TV stations in Switzerland need. The product is very flexible and comprehensive. Having PROVYS in our portfolio, we can offer a solution with a perfect price to performance ratio.
"This nicely complements our range of products and services. And it is simply a pleasure to cooperate with PROVYS" adds Mr. Rafael Kälin, Managing Director of AVC Systems AG.
Every member of PROVYS' staff is fully committed to the long-term development and improvement of the media management solutions. Fortunately, many of PROVYS' programmers take it as their personal pride to implant their clever ideas in the product.
Recently, the client application has been transferred into the DotNet framework. This major technology improvement results in a modern and pleasant graphic user interface. Implementation of the core PROVYS functionality is the first step towards building an efficient and secure environment which helps broadcasters to meet their tough business objectives.
Each extension of the core then opens up new horizons to accomplish the ever increasing requirements of the industry. "Like the famous, multi-function Swiss Army Knife, TV 24 will be using more and more PROVYS blades as they grow their network to conquer new peaks" explains Karel Votroubek (pictured), Sales Manager, PROVYS.
