Bell directs Stephanie Kirkham’s ‘Inappropriate’ debut promo

To accompany the release of the debut song, ‘Inappropriate’, by young British singer/songwriter Stephanie Kirkham, Virgin Records turned to director Katie Bell of production company RHB to devise and direct a visually stunning new promo.
Set in a beautiful forest location, and filmed in Windsor Great Park, the promo opens with a view of pines towering into the sky and bracken carpeting the woodland floor. As the vocals begin, Stephanie comes into frame and makes her way towards an opulent bed amongst the trees. As she languishes on the bed, she playfully throws cherries at the camera, all the time singing along to the infectious, summery tune. Whilst the light filters through the branches, Stephanie is seen sitting at a dressing table and luxuriating in a bath of petals.
As the camera follows her in a game of hide and seek, Stephanie emerges into an open field, and as the track finishes a cityscape, which seems a world away, glints in the background.
Bell said: "I wanted to make a stunning and really unusual video for Stephanie, which was performance driven and which would introduce her in a strong and very individual way.”
The online was carried out at Adrenalin at Rushes with the Fire work by Duncan Malcolm. The promo was offlined by Nick Allix at Metropolis.
