IFI To Celebrate Paddy's Day Across The Globe

Irish Film Institute (IF) International, supported by Culture Ireland, is gearing up to support Irish film and cultural programmes across the globe this St. Patrick's Day (17 March).

Events and venues being supported by the IFI include the Barbican in London, which will be showing a screening of Irish-American comedy Come On Over accompanied by pianist John Sweeney and uilleann piper John Devine, as well as a day of Irish shorts at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square on March 16 in collaboration with Saint Patrick’s Day London.
The Berlin St. Patrick's Festival opens on March 17 and will see the launch of Irish Film on Tour, presented in collaboration with the IFI and the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland.
The IFI continues to support the Irish Film Festival Moscow, a key element of Irish Week in Moscow that will showcase Ireland's filmmaking talent with a programme of recent features.
IFI International will also support the second annual Belgrade Irish Film Festival, introducing Irish cinema to Serbian audiences.
The Irish Film Festival in Boston returns for its 14th year, while the Rome Film Festa opens its 7th edition with The Stag and presents 15 new short films in competition.
A major retrospective of Irish cinema will take place at the 13th 'Les Recontres du cinema europeen', an annual showcase of European cinema held in Vannes, France (March 26 – April 1) with the assistance of IFI International.
