IABM introduces business and recruitment oportunities

The International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) has expanded its website to provide a business-to-business platform through which member companies can communicate specific corporate requirements to other members and to the broadcast industry worldwide.
Under the heading INTERFACE, the new section has already proved itself an efficient medium for overseas resellers seeking distribution rights and manufacturers looking to expand their international representation.
INTERFACE also provides a platform for the IABM to communicate its own activities directly to members and potential members, including most recently its sponsorship of a new UK training initiative and the announcement of this year's IABM Peter Wayne Award for Design & Innovation will be judged and presented at IBC 2002. The INTERFACE facility is available without charge as part of the IABM's support for broadcast equipment manufacturers and service-providers and for their customers.
To assist the individual staff of member companies and anyone else seeking to progress a broadcast industry career, the IABM has established an online JOBSHOP providing direct links to recruitment agencies specialising in communications management, engineering and programme production.
IABM chairman, Martin Salter, said: "The broadcast industry has always been turbulent, whether expanding rapidly or simply altering in structure under pressure from new operational and manufacturing processes and legislative concerns. Radio and television broadcasting enjoys great loyalty and affection from almost all who work in it but is highly competitive; few employees, senior executives or even business founders find themselves in a single company for life. JOBSHOP exists to serve newcomers and established staff alike and is accessible to anyone able to connect to the Internet."
Established in 1976, the IABM exists to foster the interests of broadcast equipment manufacturers and suppliers of broadcast-related services.
The IABM's activities include liaising with radio and television programme originators and broadcasters on engineering, operational, political, commercial and training issues, determining and sustaining technical standards, advising members on relevant changes in legislation and encouraging innovative product design.
