Imago adds U-Touchscreen overlays to its line-up

Imago, a leading specialist video communications distributor, has come to an agreement with U-Touch, the UK based developer of slim-fit touchscreen overlays for plasma displays.
Imago will be marketing the range of U-Touch overlays alongside plasma displays from NEC and Pioneer. U-Touch touchscreen overlays allow users to touch the screen and experience instant navigation through Windows or multimedia applications, without the need to interact through a PC. The plasma and touchscreen overlay combination will be highly suitable for the retail market, or any installation where the public wants to access information from a screen, such as in travel terminals, shopping centres, museums and galleries, or educational establishments.
U-Touch products are easy to install and set-up and they can be used with most major brands. They are available from Imago in 42”, 50” and 61” models, and a special 43” model has been developed for use with Pioneer’s PDP-433MXE Professional Plasma Display. They are constructed from a lightweight, resistive membrane which fits simply onto a Plasma screen and ensures high contrast picture quality. All that is required is to plug into a free com port on the PC, load up the driver and point and click by simply touching the screen.
No special pen or stylus is required so they are ideal for free-hand drawing and on screen writing. The bright colour-rich picture offers a 160-degree viewing angle, and the hardcoat is anti-glare and scratch resistant.
Ian Vickerage, Managing Director, Imago, said: “As we move into more diverse markets, the importance of easy access information through high quality displays becomes greater. The durability and flexibility of the U-Touch touchscreen overlay makes it a superb match for the Plasma screens in our portfolio, and ideal for a huge variety of applications.”
The U-Touch range of touchscreen overlays are available now from Imago. Further information is available by calling 01635 294300 or visiting
