ATG Completes DTT Multiplex

UK systems integrator, ATG Broadcast, has completed a new multiplex system that will form part of the extension of terrestrial digital video broadcasting services for a major European transmission service organisation.
"This project increases the number of channels which can be carried on the DTT multiplex," comments Dave Whitaker, ATG Broadcast Projects Manager. "We began by creating detailed wiring drawings from outline system schematics. We then prepared cable schedules and commenced prefabrication. Central to the new installation are encoders, multiplexers and monitoring and control subsystems as well as subtitlers, and an SDI router."
Following assembly, the system was delivered to the relevant locations for on-site testing and is now live at various sites around the country.
ATG Broadcast is revered across the UK industry, as well as internationally, offering services such as workflow-design, project-planning, equipment installation, software-configuration, commissioning, documentation and on-site training.
The company pioneered the transition from videotape to the file-based technology, now used throughout the industry. It has also assisted many clients in the construction of new high-definition studios, master-control rooms and playout facilities, as well as the upgrade of existing SD systems to HD.
