Azule And Milk Kit Out New London Facilities

Milk, the boutique visual effects company that launched in June, has today announced that it has completed the initial technical roll-out at its new facility in London’s Fitzrovia. The company has invested in a range of specialist hardware and software solutions, including Autodesk® Maya® 3D animation software, Nuke X from the Foundry, Arnold render licenses, CandIT Warp hard disk storage and Fat Twin render nodes, thanks to a swift and competitive leasing solution from Azule Finance.
Set up in June 2013 by the BAFTA award-winning team behind the visual effects for the BBC’s Doctor Who and the recent Ice Age Giants, Milk is a new London based, high-end visual effects facility specialising in innovative 3D effects and character animation for both TV and feature films. Milk has already begun work on the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who (BBC) and Sherlock: Series Three (Hartswood Films/BBC), as well as the new TV adaptation of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (Cuba Pictures/BBC) a mini-series due to be broadcast on BBC One in 2014.
In order to build its position as one of the industry’s most innovative and sought after visual effects teams, Milk enlisted the help of Azule Finance to enable them to quickly kit out and expand its technical pipeline at its London premises through a combination of software and hardware as advised by Escape Technology, utilising the most cutting-edge technologies on the market.
Will Cohen, CEO & Executive Producer at Milk, explained why they invested in the kit:  “Thanks to the competitive leasing solution from Azule and the team’s proactivity and efficiency, we’ve been able to complete our initial technical roll out extremely swiftly and focus on delivering the creative projects we’re passionate about and also ensure we’re well positioned to meet the demands of this evolving industry and our growing business.”
Peter Savage, Managing Director at Azule Finance, commented: “Visual effects is a burgeoning industry and with a wealth of award-winning experience in creating high-end visual effects for TV and feature films, Milk is already carving out a strong reputation for itself. With the timing of this new venture, the company’s not only primed to capitalise on recent tax breaks, but to take advantage of an anticipated influx of TV and feature work coming to London. Milk has equipped itself with some of the best and most sought after technology currently available which will pave the way to what is set to be quite a year for them.”
