Production Show debut for NLE SoftClock

Courtyard Electronics’ latest product is a throwback to their beginnings and opens a new involvement with the burgeoning nonlinear editing industry.
Long known for their industry-standard hardware VT Clock, Courtyard have now produced SoftClock, a software version dedicated for nonlinear editing which is available for the first time at The Production Show. It addresses the need of thousands of editors working on PC platforms wanting a clock for their leader/countdown.
SoftClock, on sale for a show-special price of £250, is a PC application that creates the countdown leader ‘VT clock’ and saves it as a sequence of TGA/JPEG files or as an AVI file. The sequence is then easily imported into NLE applications for inclusion on the edit timeline.
SoftClock’s appearance is personalised by including production company or client logos and contact details. It also has a scratch pad area for noting current job information.
Courtyard’s Sales Director, Steve Cranny, said: “Many people use our VTR clock every day. So when we saw a need for clocks in nonlinear editing, we knew we had to fill that gap. It makes it much easier to ensure that the right leader showing the right information is at the top of edited programmes.”
Also on show is the Sheriff legaliser, CY 430 Master SPGs - now with HD capability, DiamondCREDIT character generator, SportsDOG live graphics presentation system and TimePieCe an in-vision real time clock.
