Pyser-SGI introduces Vocas MB-350 mattebox

UK and Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI have added a new 3 plus 1 stage mattebox to their range of Vocas products for ENG and field productions.
The new MB-350 mattebox, complete with 'eyebrows' feature as standard, will accommodate 3x3 inch through to 4x6 inch filters, and is compatible with most wide-angle lenses operating in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios.
The product features two independently rotatable filter trays and one horizontal fixed filter plus one additional horizontal filter (4x5.65 inch) in the hood. However, if required this fourth filter can be replaced with a 4:3 or 16:9 matte. When used with the Fujinon A10x4.8 wide-angle lens, the MB-350 will take one 4.5x4.5 inch rotatable filter, or one four inch high filter – non-rotating, plus two horizontal 4x5.65 inch filters without any vignetting.
The 'eyebrows' feature can be operated and locked from the outside of the MB-350. 'Eyebrows' comprises internal French flags that allow the matte to be adjusted in accordance with the lens zoom position. An important benefit of 'eyebrows' is that it reduces flare from below, such as caused by water or wet roads.
All MB-350 accessories except the side flag kit are compatible with existing Vocas matteboxes. Although the MB-350 can be used as a clip-on mattebox, it is recommended that a Vocas rail support MBS-100 with bars adapter is employed.
Other Vocas products available from Pyser-SGI include the MB-300 and MB-320 matteboxes, ZiF digital zoom, iris and focus controller.
