International stars say 'Yes' to UK production

Simon Abkarian ('The Truth About Charlie', 'Ararat'), Sam Neill ('Jurassic Park'), Shirley Henderson ('Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets', 'Bridget Jones's Diary') and three-time Oscar nominee Joan Allen are to star in 'Yes', a new film by acclaimed UK film director Sally Potter ('Orlando') and supported by the Film Council's New Cinema Fund.
New York based GreeneStreet Films have acquired worldwide rights and will represent the film in Cannes next month. Yes tells the story of a passionate love affair between an American scientist and a Lebanese cook living in exile in London.
Potter first came to international attention for her award-winning, Oscar-nominated 1993 adaptation of Virginia Woolf's Orlando, and has since directed the BAFTA nominated 'The Tango Lesson' and 'The Man Who Cried', both of which she also wrote.
"The New Cinema Fund continues to support exciting and diverse film projects and Sally Potters Yes is no exception," said Paul Trijbits, head of the New Cinema Fund.
