BVE Announces Free Seminar 'Audio Theatre'

BVE has announced it will be holding a free seminar session entitled Audio Theatre at the 2013 show from 26 - 28 February.
The seminars are part of BVE’s free seminar programme.
The first day of the Audio Theatre will focus on sustainability, examining the considerations for broadcasters in achieving sustainability targets with Janet West, BBC R&D, in terms of costs and workflow; how product manufacturers like Calrec and Genelec are optimising product design to maintain performance while reducing the carbon footprint of their products; and Andy Munro of Munro Acoustics, who will be looking at how to build greener studios, with a case study looking at BBC Broadcasting House.
Day two will examine issues of audio networking, with practical advice and examinations of real-world installations of varying scales from speakers including Paul Rivens, Riedel MediorNet and Adrian Hogg, Focusrite RedNet. Mike Thornton, sound designer and audio producer, will also host a Pro Tools HDX Expert Clinic.
The final day will look at microphones, with Logan Helps, Audio-Technica, offering advice on identifying the right model for different productions; Alan Theakston, Source, examining the mic to camera interface of DSLRs and how to get the best from them; and a session on mic placement to achieve the best quality audio for interviews, drama and live reporting with Ed Lister, FlagtimeFilms. In addition there will be a session on audio post-production, sharing tips and tricks on editing, finishing and delivering broadcast quality audio.
Audio professionals can also find a host of audio-related products and services in the exhibition hall, from exhibitors including the APRS, APC, Audio Network, Calrec, Glensound Electronics, HHB, Roland Systems Group, Sennheiser and Studer by Harman.
