Drake win prestigious award at NAB 2003
Drake Electronics have been awarded the prestigious '2003 Mario Award' at this year’s NAB.
The Mario Awards, presented by TV Technology magazine, are chosen by renowned TV Technology columnist Mario Orazio, who anonymously combed the NAB 2003 show floor to select 10 products that represent the most outstanding innovations on display from among more than 1,400 exhibitors at the show. Past winners of the Mario Award have included such industry leaders as Panasonic, Snell & Wilcox and Fujinon.
The award was won by Drake for FreeSpeak – the world’s first licence-free, fully-featured, digital, wireless intercom system.
FreeSpeak operates using a cellular network of active antennas located around the production environment that are connected directly to the Drake matrix. All the winners of the Mario Award will be recognised in a forthcoming edition of TV Technology magazine.
Irwin D. Nathanson, Sales & Marketing Director at Drake, said: "This prestigious award is the highlight of a magnificent show for Drake. We are now considered a serious contender in the US marketplace."
