BVE 2013 The Essential Exhibition

News Image
BVE showcases a comprehensive selection of products, services and technologies for taking content from conception to consumption.
The show will take place from 26-28 February at the ExCeL London.
RFV caught up with the organisers to find out what we can expect from the show.

RFV: What can we look forward to at BVE this year?
BVE: Moving to our new venue has given us the freedom to grow and bring visitors more exhibitors, seminar theatres, content and networking opportunities. We have a brand new theatre, a strategic business conference and a new section to look out for – more details to come! We’re also facilitating lots more chances to meet with fellow professionals at informal discussion groups, bar meet ups and after hours events.

RFV: Tell me about the exciting sessions at the show?
BVE: Once again we have an amazing line-up of free content offering free education, training, practical tips and tricks, technical insights and business advice. The 2013 programme will deliver 220 hours of free sessions delivered by 300 experts from the worlds of TV, film, advertising and digital media.

There will be 11 theatres on the show floor covering various areas:

RFV: How many exhibitors are you expecting this year? Will you be adding to the line-up?
BVE: We're expecting 350 exhibitors across all stages of the workflow, from acquisition through to distribution and delivery. BVE offers the best opportunity in the UK to see the latest developments in technology for content production, management and delivery.
Exhibitors already signed up include:
ARRI, Avid, Blackmagic, Boxer Systems, Cirro Lite, CVP, Digi-box, DJ Innovationa, EMC, EVS Broadcast, Fuji Film, Global Distribution, HHB, Holdan, IDX Technology, JVC, Manfrotto, Media Structures, Miranda, Newtek, Nikon, Playbox, Polecam, Quantum, Root6, Ross Video, Scene Double, Shure Distribution, Snell, Sony Europe

The show floor will include two new sections:
Production services@BVE
Formerly known as The Production Show, Production Services@BVE will provide a comprehensive solution for those who are planning a production, currently have a project underway or have finished and are looking for advice on what to do next. Hosting suppliers and service providers from onsite security companies and music libraries, to kit and crew hire, PS@BVE will cater for all your production needs.

Connected@BVE
BVE in 2013 will include a focus on multi-device digital delivery for content rights holders and those developing services across connected TV, web and mobile. Visitors can connect with exhibitors providing transcoding, CMS, CDN and digital content monetisation solutions whilst learning from the sector’s leading lights on how best to exploit content across multiple devices.

RFV: How has the show evolved over the last few years?
BVE: BVE is truly the UK's premier event for the production services, content creation, management and delivery industries. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything from 4K cameras and tapeless workflows to broadcast and media asset management systems. Many exhibitors use BVE to launch their new technologies in the UK – the first broadcast event of the calendar year. We’ve evolved from just being a three-day exhibition to offering a high-level conference, immensely popular free seminars and workshops, an invaluable networking hub as well as an exhibition hosting established industry leaders and innovative new companies. We also bring the latest developments and updates to the industry throughout the year via events, webinars, social media interaction and newsletters. The new venue at ExCeL also makes BVE more attractive to visitors from Europe, with London City Airport only five minutes away.
