connectCAD 2013 Launches

connectCAD, the add-on for Vectorworks, has announced the launch of the 2013 version of the software.
It is purpose-built for designing broadcast, A/V, telecom, lighting, IT cabling and other connected systems.
connectCAD has gained a strong reputation among system design engineers over the past 10 years for its purity of approach and ease of use. It solves the problem of keeping track of large numbers of cables – or other interconnected systems– in a complex installation. It links the drawings that show interconnections and signal flow – schematic diagrams – and physical layout drawings showing where equipment is located with lists of cables in an integrated design package.
The latest version is not only fully compatible with Vectorworks 2013, but it also benefits from key updates. Users can add their own fields to the device and socket records and these are now fully supported in connectCAD 2013. Many people find it useful to add product codes to their devices and sockets to help them fill out quotations and materials orders. These now automatically appear in the Edit Tool dialogs and can be displayed in cable and device lists.
One of the core benefits of connectCAD is that it allows designers to ensure that as-built drawings and cable lists match exactly the completed cabling architecture, avoiding expensive or even impossible re-working using other methods.
