Datavision named as sole UK distributor for Leef

Datavision, a leader in the provision of innovative, digital video solutions for professionals and consumers, are now the sole UK distributor for the Leef range of IEEE 1394 products - which include the ultraportable 2.5” and 3.5” drive enclosures, cables, firewire repeaters and CCD cameras.
Tim Liggins, Managing Director of Datavision, said: “We are very excited to include the Leef products in our portfolio, as we can now offer a one-top-shop for anything. There is a growing demand for products which offer true mobility, and lets users move data from location to location with no hassle and no loss of quality, and this range does just that.
"For example, Leef’s smaller 2.5” drive enclosure comes with a USB power link cord which gets over the inability of firewire PCMCIA cards to provide the required five volts for operation. Exactly what is needed if an environment is to be truly portable.”
Mr Liggins foresees a market for these products in the education sector.
“I have had a lot of enquiries from educational establishments because lecturers and teachers can see the advantages to students of being able to move their work between locations, as their individual studying and research needs demand,” he added.
Founded in 1998, Datavision specialises in developing and supplying innovative products for the serious consumer and professional digital video markets. The Datavision range of products and services includes DV Capture cards and editing software solutions for camcorders; remote camera controllers; MPEG2 Playout systems; cams and decks for extreme sports; and a 3,500sq ft photographic and a video production studio offering flexible hire and demonstration facilities.
Leef products can be viewed on the Datavision website at www.datavision.co.uk
