Zenverge Launch The ZN2000

Zenverge have launched the ZN2000 - the world's first commercially available networked quad stream HD transcoder IC.
Leveraging the ZN2000's unparalleled performance, density, and low carbon footprint, pay-TV operators and broadcast equipment manufacturers can cost-effectively deliver a high-quality video experience anywhere, anytime, and to any IP-connected device. Zenverge will demonstrate the ZN2000 at the Lincoln Room located at the Holiday Inn in Amsterdam Sept. 7-11, concurrent with IBC2012.
"The broadcast industry is increasingly supporting a wide range of IP-connected viewing devices and complex media formats, while ensuring a superior quality of service for consumers," said Amir Mobini, president and CEO, Zenverge. "Our content networking ICs increase the operational efficiency and video quality of consumer and professional platforms, enabling pay-TV operators and equipment manufacturers to deploy high-quality multiscreen services in a ubiquitous network at reduced operational and capital expenses."
Utilizing sophisticated video processing technology, the ZN2000 is capable of transcoding up to four HD or 16 SD video streams simultaneously. The extremely versatile chip is also capable of transcoding two full HD streams to eight ABR profile streams, thereby providing the greatest transcoding density and most robust adaptive bitrate streaming control.
In addition to launching the ZN2000 in Amsterdam, Zenverge will also showcase its flagship ZN200 family of content networking ICs. Designed specifically for consumer electronics and set-top box (STB) manufacturers, the ZN200 reduces operators' capital expenditures by expanding their traditional STB business model to reach a wider range of devices — making it the ideal solution for in-home multiscreen support. The ZN200 enables broadcast operators in the cable, satellite, terrestrial, and telco markets to stream live content to iOS and Android™-based tablets and smartphones efficiently, deliver high-quality H.264 video content to legacy MPEG-2 STBs, and broadcast compelling video content to game consoles and other IP devices.
Visitors to the Lincoln Room at the Holiday Inn can view demonstrations of the following shipping products and partner reference designs for a variety of consumer and professional applications, including: TiVo Stream IP adaptors, enabling consumers to access broadcast and stored content on tablets and smartphones via a TiVo multiroom DVR; media gateway and video gateway reference platforms for in-home multiscreen viewing in collaboration with Intel, Digital Keystone, and Maxlinear; media NAS gateways in partnership with Cortina Systems; media adaptors in partnership with Monsoon Multimedia; and professional OTT, hospitality, and headend equipment working with Video Propulsion, Vyumix, and WISI.
