MediaCityUK Developer Releases First App

MediaCityUK’s first video games developer, Yippee! Entertainment, has announced the release of its introductory game 'Chimpact' coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch This week.
The game is being distributed by Macclesfield based publisher, Chillingo, and is available on the Apple App Store now. The game features ‘Chuck’ the chimp – a cheeky monkey who is catapulted around the jungle searching for bananas and hidden gems.
The digital and gaming media have already been praising the game for it’s extraordinarily rich graphics and ‘pick up and play’ gameplay. The game was featured at a major media event in California recently and sites such as the respected technology blog, Venturebeat, have been praising it.
Commercial Director, Lorraine Starr, said: "We are so proud of the game and hope it is something that the public will really enjoy. It’s been great to keep everything local too – the team are all Manchester and Salford based and our publisher, Chillingo, is just down the road in Macclesfield."
