Visual Unity’s vuMedia Content Management And Delivery Platform Makes the CSI Awards Shortlist

Visual Unity is delighted to announce that its vuMedia™ integrated content management and delivery platform has been shortlisted for a CSI Award in the Best Content On Demand category.
Launched in 2011, vuMedia™ was developed by leading systems integrator Visual Unity, a company with over 20 years’ experience and expertise in the design and delivery of linear broadcast and multiscreen solutions. Designed to help broadcasters and content owners control how their brand and assets are managed and monetized in the multiscreen environment, vuMedia™ takes viewer engagement to a whole new level by delivering a cutting-edge live viewing experience on the web, mobile or any connected device. With vuMedia, broadcasters can incorporate Video on Demand and social network integration into their workflow and business processes, as well as access secure content distribution via the Cloud or CDN.
Tomas Petru, President of Visual Unity, says: “Being nominated for such a prestigious award is a fantastic endorsement of the power and flexibility of the vuMedia™ platform. We are delighted that, just one year after its launch, vuMedia™ is already being recognised as such a valuable asset in the content-on-demand space.”
vuMedia’s ability to support multiple devices, including web, mobiles and Smart TVs, makes it ideal for broadcasters of all sizes, while its open framework means that it can be easily deployed into existing workflows. The platform comprises four highly scalable and flexible modules:
• vuChannel for live and on-demand web-based and mobile viewing, fully integrated into the station backend;
• vuDemand for comprehensive Video on Demand (VoD) services, including billing and reporting;
• vuMobile for mobile content and applications with social network integration for real-time viewer engagement;
• vuNet providing secure control over content distribution, via The Cloud or using Visual Unity’s own Content Delivery Network with local POPs across Europe and the Middle East.
Since its launch, vuMedia™ has been adopted by a wide variety of broadcast clients. National and regional broadcasters such as Czech TV and Al Aan in the Middle East have chosen vuMedia™ as their content management and distribution solution because it enables them maintain a quality linear service and meet new multiscreen demands for content on multiple devices, in different formats and interfaces. It has also proved popular with media companies such as TopFun and TV Nova that are entering the Content-on-Demand or Video-on-Demand space and require a content management and delivery solution that provides efficient, secure distribution with user management and billing.
CSI magazine’s prestigious awards will take place on Friday 7th September at IBC 2012.
