ATG Broadcast Takes Centre Stage In Singapore

ATG Broadcast, a world-leading specialist in broadcast systems design and installation, reports a highly successful BroadcastAsia 2012. The company promoted its full range of services at the show which was held in Singapore, 19-22 June.
“BroadcastAsia is ideally timed between the April NAB show in Las Vegas and the September International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam,” comments ATG Broadcast Managing Director Graham Day. “The Singapore show is particularly useful as it provides a forum for discussions with existing and potential clients in a more relaxed environment than the larger events. BroadcastAsia has held its focus on the core business of broadcasting as well as being a useful showcase for some highly innovative product developers within its target region.
“We held discussions with customers from the Middle East and Malaysia and met new potential clients from Australia and New Zealand. All share a common interest in maximising the advantages of file-based content acquisition, post-production, asset-management and playout. An increasing number of broadcasters involved in sport are monitoring developments in 4K now that flat-panel-display manufacturers are starting to promote ‘retina quality’ devices. This ties in well with the latest developments in camera technology and offers the industry a logical progression route from standard definition through nominally 2K high definition towards an eventual goal of 8K ultra-high definition while staying within the confines of sensible budgeting.
“Given the inevitable profusion of display standards, broadcasters need to ensure that their viewers have complete freedom to use whatever reception platform matches their lifestyle, whether they are into large-screen viewing at home or watching live or podcast video via an iPad, perhaps even an iPhone, when traveling. Glasses-free 3D will be yet another flavour.”
ATG Broadcast co-exhibited at BroadcastAsia with Danmon Asia and Hiltron GmBH, sister companies within the Dan Technologies Group. Danmon Asia (www.danmonasia.com) is based in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi. Hiltron (www.hiltron.de
www.hiltron.de) is a satellite communications specialist with headquarters at Backnang near Stuttgart.
