Quantel take generationQ to South East Asia

Newbury-based Quantel are introducing generationQ to the south-east Asian market at Broadcast Asia 2002 which takes place in Singapore this week.
Launched at NAB 2002, Quantel say that generationQ has already been well received with orders placed for multiple iQ media platforms, the new eQ editing workhorse and generationQ integrated news systems.
Modern VideoFilm in the US purchased five iQ systems whilst the BBC has placed a number of orders for generationQ integrated news systems, with more orders under consideration.
Eric Masters, Director of Quantel Asia Pacific, said: "I am fully confident that we will see similar enthusiasm from visitors at Broadcast Asia as at NAB. generationQ has proven to be a success, given the appeal of its total scalability in hardware and software, all the way from PC to high-end systems. We are the first company in the world to address this need, and I am sure that it will revolutionise content creation and live-to-air production."
Quantel's generationQ showcase will include news, graphics and post.
In news server, the sQ Server, a development of Quantel's Clipbox true random access server technology, integrates and locks together browse and full bandwidth video under Integrated Server Automation.
In graphics new software based on Quantel Paintbox, the Qpaintbox, is Resolution Co-existent and includes many powerful new graphics tools, including a Digital Rostrum Camera; new templating tools; multi-superlayer compositing.
The new high-powered gQ graphics platform provides the muscle for close-to-air graphics production and the possibility of a network for super-efficient graphics workflow.
In post from the same technology programme as iQ the eQ is designed to meet all the media needs of the mainstream post house and broadcaster. Fully resolution co-existent, eQ has the power to handle any-resolution.
With scalable software options, placing the same tools with the same interface on the desktop, Quantel's QEffects effects/layering software run on iQ and eQ, and will also run on the PC for pre-visualisation work.
