Tim Hammond Joins DCD Media As MD Of UK Production

DCD Media, the independent TV production and distribution group, has appointed former Gallowgate MD Tim Hammond to the newly created position of MD, UK Production, based at the company’s London office.
In a TV career spanning 20 years, Tim most recently played a leading role in the management of Ant and Dec´s indie Gallowgate where, since 2006, he helped establish a company that became a major supplier of programming to UK broadcasters and whose entertainment formats such as Pokerface and Push the Button continue to enjoy success internationally.
During his time with the company Tim notably secured a number of innovative commercial deals including one of the first productions with GroupM Entertainment for the Channel 5 gameshow The Beat Goes On.
In 2001 Tim became Carlton’s Head of Production for the Factual and Factual Entertainment genres. During this period the departments underwent substantive growth and won numerous awards and accolades for their output including Kelly and Her Sisters, Fat, Miracles, OK!TV, and Rich and Famous. In 2004 Tim joined media rights group Target Entertainment as Director of Operations, and was also tasked with starting up a new in-house production company.
Tim Hammond commented: "It is a great time to be joining a group that is currently investing in its UK business and whose companies have a strong track record and a well-earned reputation across all genres. I look forward to working with the creative and commercial teams across DCD to help lead the business into its next phase of growth."
Sammy Nourmand, CEO, DCD Media, said: "Tim’s experience and understanding of the independent sector is first rate and in his role of Managing Director of all our UK Production activity will complement the skills of the existing team and be key to our future expansion."
Starting immediately, Hammond will oversee the Group’s UK Production arm including companies such as Prospect Pictures, Prospect Cymru and September Films UK as well as look at the interests and integration of joint ventures Rize USA and Matchlight. His team will notably include Elaine Day, the recently appointed Group Director of UK Production.
Elsewhere DCD-owned producer September Films UK has also promoted executive producer Peter Wyles (Richard Hammond’s Blast Lab) to Head of Factual Entertainment. Peter will work alongside Bob Massie, September Films UK’s newly appointed Head of Entertainment and Simon Broadley, Head of Development.
