IPV Showcase Workflow Solutions At NAB

IPV have revealed that are set to launch new software that aims to boost productivity in live and fast turnaround production environments.
The new tools, including extensions to the established Curator and Teragator products, provide tight links to editing tools as well as comprehensive support for service oriented architectures (SOA).
The supplier of media, metadata and low bitrate, frame-accurate video technology will launch the new software tools at NAB 2012.
Real-Time Media Asset Management
The IPV Process Engine, developed as part of the company’s Curator asset management infrastructure is now available as a standalone product to sit as part of a production workflow. It provides a bridge between live content logging, desktop editing and finishing products such as Avid and Adobe Premiere Pro. SpectreView allows live content to be streamed at browse resolution into desktop editors or finishing suites, and for highlights packages to be built as an event progresses. Once the EDL is published it is conformed at full resolution as it is played out to air.
Meanwhile IPV will also be demonstrating the Curator Live logger with its multi-camera annotation tools, which provides a mechanism to directly export EDLs into IPV's Conform Farm or a finishing environment — such as Avid Media Composer — while taking full advantage of their Group Clip function. This HTML based web interface will further expand the web services API for Curator, allowing IPV to provide highly flexible and custom-built web interfaces, alongside a rich web services API for partners.
Controlling Metadata Using IPV Metadata Central
A new application for the IPV Teragator system, Metadata Central, will also launch at NAB. It uses the power of the semantic web to mine multiple disparate sources of data — including in-house databases, subscription feeds and social networks — and transform them into a unified source for use across the enterprise. The benefit of semantic analytics is not just simplification: it allows richer, more complex search filters to be defined, leading to greater productivity and better targeted content being delivered more quickly.
Also new at NAB2012 is version 5.0 of IPV SpectreView, the low bitrate video advanced streaming technology for which the company is best known. The latest release incorporates the full range of formats and I/O, including DNxHD and MPEG-4 H.264. To enable users to advance their installations, the new release allows the latest and legacy formats to be played back to back on a desktop timeline without ever compromising the IPV guarantee of frame accuracy.
The new standalone Process Engine, Metadata Central, SpectreView 5.0 and the full range of IPV asset management products can be seen at NAB on booth N4017.
