BBC Set To Commemorate Titanic

News Image
BBC Northern Ireland is getting set to mark the 100th anniversary of the iconic Titanic with a season of special programming to commemorate the 1,500 lives lost when the ship sank a century ago and to celebrate the craftsmanship behind Belfast’s most famous creation.
With new exclusive content and extensive coverage of Titanic anniversary events, BBC Northern Ireland will bring to life the rich story and legacy of the Titanic. Through specially-commissioned documentaries, drama and events, BBC NI will tell the human stories of those who built the Titanic, the men, women and children who both survived and perished on that fateful night of April 14/15, 1912 and those left behind who continue the ship’s story one hundred years on.
Peter Johnston, Director, BBC Northern Ireland, said: "The Titanic continues to this day to fascinate and inspire people all round the globe. We hope our content is a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives 100 years ago as well as celebrating the work and craftsmanship of our locals who built in Belfast’s shipyard the most famous vessel in the world."
