'Inbetweeners' Fastest Selling Comedy

Already a box-office smash a UK indie film now released on DVD has become the fastest selling comedy of the year.
The Inbetweeners Movie released by 4DVD has become the fastest selling comedy home entertainment release of the year and follows behind only Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows as the overall fastest selling DVD of the year.
Both Harry Potter and the Inbetweeners mark success for the UK Film industry for writers, directors, producers and actors alike.
The Inbetweeners comedy movie was directed Ben Palmer known for his work with BO Selecta and Keith Lemon’s: Very Brilliant World Tour.
Meanwhile the movie was produced by to UK –based companies Bwark Productions and Young Films whilst being funded by Film4.
Indeed the Inbetweeners movie has set a new benchmark for UK comedy film.
Previously Film4's comedy smashed UK box office records for Entertainment Film Distributors the weekend it opened on a reported £13.2m putting it comfortably on top of the UK and Ireland box office chart.
These figures make it the biggest ever opening for any independently produced UK film, as well as for any UK-produced comedy.
The result is the second-biggest UK opening of 2011, behind only Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 (£23.7m).
According to Screen Daily the film scored a bigger debut than 2011 hits Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (£11.6m) and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (£10.7m) and ranks among the top 30 biggest openings ever in the UK.
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason held the previous record for highest opening by a UK comedy.
The only other independent production that has opened stronger in the UK is Summit-produced Twiglight Saga: Eclipse.
