Root6 File-based Workflows For BVE

BVE North, Manchester starts today and among the many innovation on show is root6.
It will demonstrate file-based workflows for broadcast and postproduction featuring the integration of a number of just-released technologies.
For broadcasters, root6 will show DVS Venice with realtime stereoscopic capture and STAN realtime 3D correction. Stereoscopic editing will be demonstrated using the new tools available in Avid's latest offering, Media Composer 6.
The AVC workflow for broadcast deliverables is suitable for live 3D sporting coverage for events such as the upcoming Olympic Games.
Also featured will be new I/O options for MC6 from AJA and Matrox with Thunderbolt connectivity.
ContentAgent, the workflow management tool from root6 Technology will be demonstrated with the latest 3.1 software featuring RED Rocket support and integration with Avid Interplay check-in.
New at BVE North will be integration with Vidchecker for automated QC and correction, and NVIDIA's CUDA for accelerated H.264 encoding.
Vidchecker joins a number of leading third party applications that can now be integrated with ContentAgent for fully automated file-based working.
At a seminar 'Cash in on your Content' (Thursday at 1.15pm) root6 will also showcase ContentSafari, a technology project under development with leading wildlife production company Parthenon Productions and Reading University.
The project incorporates artificial intelligence and image recognition to identify specific objects in moving images.
The difference between emotional and factual keywording will be examined as will the concept of automatic keyword generation. The session is an important one for those seeking to monetize their libraries.
