Going Large Format At ProVideo

In the past 12-months there has been a dramatic increase in the uptake of DSLRs amongst professional videographers. Despite their shortcomings as video cameras, industry creatives love the cinematic look DSLRs can deliver – a point proved by the fact that over 80% of all the short-listed entries in the 2011 Institute of Videography (IOV) Awards were either entirely or partly shot on a DSLR. Whilst the traditional manufacturers in this sector were slow to react to this industry swing, the ProVideo 2011 exhibition will witness the first real fight back in the UK with Sony using the event to do an in-depth showcase of its latest Super 35mm offerings.
Taking place at the Ricoh Arena on 19th & 20th October, ProVideo will also present all the latest in accessories and consumables for the professional videographer, including lenses, grip, solid state media, lighting and a vast array of specialist audio recording technology.
Apart from the trade exhibition side to the event, ProVideo 2011 will also host a comprehensive range of seminars, workshops and presentations – covering the complete range of skills and revenue streams in professional videography. These include practical application of shallow DOF video cameras and DSLRs within video production, how to break into corporate video, the secrets in creating top-end wedding day films, an introduction to wildlife filming, creating the perfect soundtrack – and much, much more!
Institute of Videography Executive Administrator, Kevin Cook said: “The event name change has really worked for us and resulted in a much more diverse range of exhibitors and attendees last year. The networking aspect of this type of event is increasingly becoming more and more important. Online forums, industry websites and magazines simply can’t substitute the benefits of face-to-face networking. ProVideo 2011 will foster, promote and cater for delegate and exhibitor networking with a comfortable featured zone at the centre of the exhibition floor."
ProVideo will also provide the backdrop for this year's IOV Awards which will be held on 19th October in the Ricoh's Sky Creations Lounge.
