Argosy Debuts New ‘Signature’ Range of Rack Designs At IBC2011

An international supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, have launched a new range of broadcast racks, called the ‘Signature’ range, at IBC2011.
This new range is available in addition to the already successful Argosy Mark 4 series racks which will continue to be supplied by Argosy.
The ‘Signature’ range offers a new approach in broadcast rack design as it features an aluminium frame. As the frame is constructed from patented aluminium extrusions and corner pieces, the frame design is narrower than previous steel versions. This offers significant space savings over existing designs, particularly in large systems installations. The roof, doors, sides, inner metalwork and outer accessories are constructed from steel and available in a range of standard colours.
The aluminium frame is very light, weighing considerably less than steel, although the extrusions are extremely strong allowing the frame to take loads of over 1000kgs once assembled. This flexible rack construction enables quick and easy shipment, in a condensed pre-built flat packed state, reducing shipping costs and allowing for easy entry into restricted access locations.
“The beauty of the ‘Signature’ rack is that it is easy to transport and once on a customer site the rack is far easier to assemble than previous designs,” said Chris Smeeton at Argosy. “Its unique design will enable us to respond more quickly to last minute, large volume orders - all with the added benefit of very competitive pricing.”
The ‘Signature’ range is available in various custom heights as well as standard 42RU, 45RU and 47RU - and in depths of 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm and 1200mm. IT versions, up to 1000mm width also form part of this new range.
Visitors to the Argosy stand at IBC2011 will see a full range of HD infrastructure products including, a collection of video, audio and power cables, connectors, rack systems as well as an array of video accessories.
