Seneca Productions Appoints Evans Managing Director

Seneca Productions, the production company established by Director Neil Crombie and writer and broadcaster Alain de Botton, has announced the appointment of Joe Evans as Managing Director.
Evans will oversee the growth of the company's factual output as part of its ongoing expansion.
Evans joins Seneca from Oxford Scientific Films (OSF) where he held the position of Head of Development. During his time at OSF, he won commissions from BBC ONE, BBC FOUR, Channel 5, Discovery US, Animal Planet US and National Geographic, including hit US series Fatal Attractions (Animal Planet) and History of Safari with Richard E Grant (BBC FOUR).
Prior to this, he was Head of Development for Documentaries at BBC Factual London. Evans also previously worked in production and development for Talkback Thames and Diverse.
Neil Crombie, Director, Seneca Productions, said: "Joe is full of ideas and energy and really passionate about making smart, quality television. It's fantastic to have him on board and we look forward to working with him to expand the company's output and build on our existing reputation for high-quality, intelligent programming."
Joe Evans, Managing Director, Seneca Productions, added: "After a wonderful three years at OSF I'm delighted to be stepping up to run a company whose output and ethos I greatly admire. Seneca is a hugely creative indie and I look forward to driving the next stage of its development."
Seneca is currently in production on Grayson Perry and the Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman, a one-off documentary on Turner Prize-winning artist Perry for BBC ONE's Imagine strand. The programme will follow Perry as he prepares for a major exhibition at the British Museum to be held this autumn. Seneca is also in production on a Channel 4 series, details of which are to be announced shortly.
