DR Drives Danish TV and Web News Service With Mosart Automation

A Danish national broadcaster is using the Mosart automation system to drive an all-day television news channel distributed via satellite, terrestrial, and Internet streaming.
The broadcaster, DR, is the first broadcaster to use Mosart automation integrated with Snell's Morpheus platform.
They use it to switch between DR Update, their live news production, and its alternate twenty-minute looping sections, allowing the studio to work on new production, while retaining the ability to simultaneously modify the loop being played out from continuity.
The integration of Mosart with Morpheus expands the system's capabilities by making Mosart as-run logs available to Morpheus, automatically transferring the news as-run between Mosart and Morpheus. This enables a flexible operation including changes to story-itemized looping playlists running on Morpheus. The integrated system gives news broadcasters a secure means of managing the transition between live gallery production and looped segments in continuity.
Support for Snell's Kahuna and Morpheus is a new feature of the current version of the Mosart automation system and also of v3.0, which made its debut at the 2011 NAB Show.
Mosart Medialab is a subsidiary of TV2 and one of a cluster of technology spin-offs including Vizrt, StormGeo, and Vimond.
It develops and markets the Mosart automation system for news, sports, weather, and live broadcasting applications. Conceived in 2002 at TV2 by professional news directors, producers, and editors, Mosart meets the demands of live production by simplifying workflow and control, eliminating operational errors, and providing a highly flexible environment for ad-hoc operation. High-level gallery control is combined with a sophisticated user interface making it easy to override the schedule and improvise when breaking news demands instant response.
