September Films Wins New Bridezillas Season And Announces New Appointment

DCD-owned September Films has won yet another 23 new hours of WEtv's flagship show Bridezillas and has appointed Richard Hansil to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Creative, as well as promoting Pamela Covais to Senior Vice President, Production. Both will be based at the September Films USA office at Tribeca West Studios in Los Angeles.
WEtv's hit reality series will return for an eighth season of hour-long episodes to air from mid-2011. The hit franchise, which now totals 150 hours all distributed worldwide by international sales company DCD Rights, continues to be one of WEtv's all-time highest rated series.
Season 7 broke new viewing records in 2010 with the one-hour special Bridezillas Where Are They Now? leading to the channel's best ever night in primetime. Laura Halperin and David Green are Executive Producers for September Films USA. John Miller and Suzanne Gladstone are Executive Producers for WEtv.
DCD-owned September Films has appointed Richard Hansil to the new role of Senior Vice President, Creative, with a remit to oversee all aspects of production and development for September's rapidly expanding US office. Prior to his appointment Hansil has been an Executive Producer on two seasons of Billy the Exterminator for September Films and has produced or helped develop many successful shows for NBC, ABC, Fox, Discovery, TLC, Spike and many other US broadcasters. Working in Los Angeles and London, Richard has also worked as a Writer/Producer/Director on projects in a wide range of genres, from house reality to makeover and scripted. His credits include Supernanny, The Alaska Experiment and Surviving Disaster among many others.
David Green, CEO of DCD Media and Chairman of September Films, commented: "I am delighted to see Richard Hansil join our top creative US pool as we continue to build up transatlantic business. DCD's headlong surge into the American reality TV marketplace remains the biggest driver of the group's growth, and Richard's proven success in delivering successful popular programming will be a key asset in the ongoing expansion of our US base."
The company has also promoted Vice President, Pamela Covais, to the position of Senior Vice President, Production where she continues her role as Managing Director of September Films USA. Pamela joined September Films in June 2005 and has guided the landmark Bridezillas (for WEtv) and Billy the Exterminator (for A&E) franchises through numerous successful seasons as well as the recent Mall Cops: Mall of American series (for TLC).
