Bel Launch New Flagship 3G HD Monitor/De-embedder At BVE

A new 16-channel flagship model was launched by Bel digital Audio at BVE.
The latest offering from the UK company, provides 16 channel audio and video monitoring of 3G HD, SDI and SD video signals with loopthrough and Dolby E and Digital decoding and Integral Loudness metering compliant to ITU-R BS1770 all in a compact 1U package.
The new BM-AV1-E16SHD takes off where Bel's last range-topping model left off and shrinks it down into a 1U chassis. The new model provides a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs. There are two SDI inputs alongside eight AES audio patios and eight analogue inputs. The device provides auto-selection of 3G, HD and SD SDI bitstreams and decodes as appropriate. Switching between inputs is accomplished by use of the simple, front mounted rotary controls.
The unit provides 16 channel monitoring with the ability to monitor any channel including creating combinations and groups. Visible audio monitoring is via eight, three colour LED bar graph meters on the front panel which are switchable between all available channels and inputs.
The meters have adjustable colour transition points and peak-hold facility. The ballistics are user assignable and seven standard scales are available to choose Nordic, BBC PPM, DIN PPM, VU, VU Ext., AES/EBU plus Loudness metering, one of the industry's current hot topics, is also catered for by the unit to ITU-R BS1770.
Two speakers and a headphone socket, all also front panel mounted, provide audible confidence monitoring of any audio channel on either speaker.
To enable video monitoring there is a high quality OLED video display on the front panel providing exceptional clarity and image definition. Comprehensive metadata reporting is also provided via the OLED screen which has an auto-dimming function when not in use that increases the lifespan of the screen significantly.
A Dolby decoder is included in the BM-AV1-E16SHD as standard. When enabled it can decode Dolby E, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus material from any of the AES inputs, or from embedded audio data within the SDI bitstreams.
Bel also expect further new models to become available imminently including an audio and video monitor with 16 individual bar graph LED meters.
