NRK Commisions Sold!

Property guessing game Sold! has been recommissioned for a second season by Norway's largest public broadcaster NRK, Karoline Spodsberg, Managing Director of Banijay International, has confirmed.
Sold! was originally devised by DR in Denmark and is distributed as part of Banijay International's overall deal with DR.
Sold! has also been recommissioned in Sweden, where the fourth season on TV4 will be upgraded to a full commercial hour and include some exciting new features.
In Norway, season one of the show consistently outperformed NRK's average share, peaking with 49.4% during its Wednesday evening timeslot.
Throughout its series, it also dominated viewing across all other channels in Norway attracting an average of approximately 40% of all viewers 12 years plus. The second most popular channel, TV2, could muster just 23% against Sold!'s loyal fan base. As a result, NRK has opted to commission a further 12 episodes, six episodes of which will air at the end of 2010 and a further six during spring 2011.
In Sweden, the success of the first three seasons has lead to Sold!'s expansion to 44 minutes and the addition of new format pillars for the fourth eight-episode series.
The original Sold! format sees two teams of professional real estate agents try to guess the price of houses just sold - would a huge farm house in the country buy you even a studio apartment in the centre of the capital city? In each programme viewers can join in the guessing while estate agents are shown around three houses or flats. Feeding viewers' inquisitive streak, the show takes audiences inside all sorts of housing in different parts of the country.
Beginning in December, in addition to the traditional elements of the format, some Sold! episodes will take place abroad, with the estate agents guessing the price of real estate in a foreign city. They will also help a family that wants to spread its wings to find a new home - away from home!
The revamped format will be launched to all international broadcasters at NATPE 2011, Miami, between January 24 - 26.
Karoline Spodsberg said: "Sold! is a fantastic spin on other formats in the property genre, and shows the value of our commitment to all of our formats, and all of our distribution partners. This business isn't just about what's new, it's about what works, and Sold! is an example of a strong format from an excellent creative team that, with the right distribution focus, can have a successful second and third life on television."
Originally created by DR Denmark, Sold! will soon enter its 17th series on the primary broadcaster.
