New Appointment For MediaCityUK

Former ITV Head of Technology John O'Shaughnessy has joined MediaCityUK as Head of Technology Operations.
John, who has worked for ITV North for the past 25 years, has wide experience of managing departments, as well as overseeing the implementation of technological advances within a studio environment.
John has looked after the technology requirements for a variety of high profile ITV including Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
John O'Shaughnessy said on his appointment: "After over 25 years of enjoyable and productive time at ITV I am now keenly looking forward to the challenges ahead at MediaCityUK. I am delighted to get the opportunity to be a member of the team that will develop MediaCityUK from its inception to becoming a world class studio and resources facility that will redefine the reference for production and content creation."

Owned and operated by Peel Media and SIS Live, the studios include seven high definition television studios, two audio studios (one dedicated to the BBC Philharmonic), and a technical block featuring: fully equipped sound and vision control rooms; core post facilities; CTA (central technical area); dressing rooms; make-up rooms; workshops; set storage; and green rooms.
The studio block will also house the Open Centre - a split level reception area featuring a bar, cafes and an information point. In addition, productions are ongoing at The Pie Factory, next door to the main development.
The Pie Factory, owned by Peel Media, is already home to 26 businesses offering an array of services from camera and lighting hire to casting, design and IT solutions.
At the end of 2010, Peel Media announced that iTV will re-locate its Manchester-based operations including Coronation Street to MediaCityUK.
This month sees the first show made from The Studios, MediaCityUK.
