Cinegy Launches Cinegy Air 9.0 With Cinegy Type

Cinegy has released the next major version of their award-winning broadcast automation and playout server solution Cinegy Air.
Released this month, Cinegy Air 9.0 offers new features and improvements along with the significant addition of the newly developed Cinegy Type module for real time character generation and branding.
Cinegy Type allows the addition of multiple layers of automation controlled, template based titles, logos, animated graphics, and more. From simple ticket tapes and lower thirds to multi-layer character animations Cinegy Type includes a whole range of advanced effects and features. This new module addresses simple requirements such as logo insertion right through to complex branding with templates information and animated video plates.
Cinegy Type templates can be triggered by Cinegy Air Control automation with the variable parts of the templates being updated either manually or automatically. The Cinegy Type CG engine dynamically composites the different layers making it possible to independently control when different elements are visible or not during playout.
Cinegy's Swedish-based partner, Vertias Produktion, have already had success with Cinegy Air 9.0 and the new Cinegy type module. Local TV Channel Vastra Malardalens (VMTV), implemented the Cinegy Air solution earlier this year, and has now begun using Cinegy Type as well. Anders Hoog, Managing Director at Vertias Produktion commented: "VMTV are starting with using Cinegy Type for simple things; titles and logo insertion. The idea though is to use it for full dynamic, automated CG playout. We are very pleased with how this product is helping us to meet the organisation's goals for expansion with Cinegy."
Cinegy Air 9.0 includes dramatically expanded support for the most popular professional media formats. Now, XDCAM HD MXF files can be simply dragged and dropped for playout, along with MXF AS-O3 and QuickTime MOV files. The Cinegy Air 9.0 Engine has also been upgraded to allow the playback of H.264 encoded content, as well as allowing VANC (Vertical Ancillary Data) pass-through; enabling the embedding of closed-captions/sub-titles as well as V-Chip and aspect ratio flags.
