RTS North West Announces Shortlist For 2010 Awards

The Royal Television Society has announced the shortlist for its 2010 awards in the North West - one of the UK's most respected and celebrated awards outside of London.
The November 20 event, held at Manchester's Hilton Hotel, will be hosted by comedian Justin Moorhouse with special guests and surprises on the night.
It showcases the stars, programmes and skills in the region achieving national and international success - from entertainment, drama and documentary to writing, post-production and multiplatform.
The shortlist highlights the range of TV made in the North West - from Coronation Street, Shameless, Waterloo Road and Hollyoaks to A Question of Sport, Dragon's Den, John Bishop's Britain, the Jeremy Kyle Show, Roary the Racing Car and documentaries from The Future of Food with George Alagiah to the BBC's A History of Christianity.
Alex Connock, Chairman of the RTS North West Centre, said: "These awards showcase the depth and range of North West broadcast talent. This year we look back at 50 years of Coronation Street, one of the world's most successful TV series and look to the future as the BBC trebles its production here - with the move into MediaCityUK in Salford Quays."
