ABC Australia Acquires Primetime Line-up From DRG

DRG and the ABC Australia have confirmed a significant deal which will bring a portfolio of five high-profile DRG programmes to the network's primetime line-up, including the BBC's Five Days 2, ITV's Doc Martin and Sky 1's Skellig.
Patrick Roberts, SVP of International Sales at DRG, said: "This diverse mix of programmes reflects the originality, quality and confidence that international buyers have in UK programming. DRG have always had a fantastic relationship with ABC and we're delighted to extend the success of these UK brands into Australia's households."
ABC has acquired from DRG season five of the long-running ITV1 drama Doc Martin, starring Martin Clunes. Distributed by DRG to more than 200 territories worldwide, the series is ITV1's highest rating primetime drama and it has become Australia's number 1 rating primetime drama import.
Joining the line-up is the thrilling crime-drama Five Days 2, produced in HD by BBC Productions it stars Suranne Jones (Unforgiven) and David Morrissey (Sense & Sensibility).
Separately, the network has acquired the epic and magical HD family event drama Skellig, an original commission by Sky One, it stars Tim Roth (Lie to Me) and John Simm (Doctor Who).
From BBC Productions, the ABC has acquired from DRG the primetime six-part HD factual series Museum of Life, which with unprecedented access to the Natural History Museum opens the vaults of nature's biggest mysteries and unsolved stories.
The network has additionally secured from DRG Channel 4's longest-running factual series Time Team, for its seventeenth season of historical excavations.
