Nexus Create An Ever-Evolving Short Film

Top directing talent at a leading production company, have taken the truly democratic nature of the web to another exciting stage.
Roel and Jonathan from Nexus collaborated to develop Now Take A Bow - a brilliant online environment that brings together participants the world over.
Billed as "a self-portrait of the audience", Now Take A Bow makes possible a short film in perpetual change and motion as filmmakers follow the directions (narrated by Roel and Jonathan themselves) and create their own unique and individual take. The participants are then redirected to their own personal page, such as http://nowtakeabow.com/122, which can be easily be shared on Facebook and Twitter.
The contributions are automatically moderated through a crowd-sourced workforce. A new version of the film is rendered every hour, featuring all the latest contributions. It's the ultimate celebration of the creative and collaborative possibilities of the worldwide web and has been devised by Roel and Jonathan to commemorate 10 years of KORT, an initiative of NTR in collaboration with the The Netherlands Film Fund, the Dutch Cultural Media Fund, CoBoFonds for young screenwriters and filmmakers.
Roel and Jonathan said: "The democratisation of short film (the maximum length of a YouTube movie is 10 minutes) has yielded a valuable new culture. Viewers and makers of short films come closer and closer together and traditional 'high production value' films compete directly with remakes made by their fans.
"It's a new culture of versions, where the value lies not only in the original but with all versions together. Each new version changes the context a bit and the differences between the versions tell a larger story. As a living organism the collection of versions can grow and become part of our collective memory and a collective authorship arises."
