GTC 'How To Survive As A Freelance!' Team Heads For Manchester

The Guild of Television Cameramen's business skills roadshow is heading to Manchester. The 'How to Survive as a Freelance!' team will be at Big Shed Studios, Old Trafford, on Saturday September 25. Similar events have already been held in Uxbridge and Birmingham and were very well received.
The packed day will include tips and information on how to market yourself, crucial information on tax and insurance, and advice on how to finance kit purchases. The full schedule comprises:
  • Survival Skills for Freelances, Christina Fox
  • Paying for Your Gear, Duncan Payne, Fineline Media Finance
  • Keeping the Books Straight, Selwyn Foreman, Bradley Foreman Accountants
  • The Risk Business, Simon Shaw, Performance Insurance
  • Vision + Media, northwest-based crew database
  • Big Shed, a tour of the facilities and studios
...plus free lunch and refreshments.
GTC workshops are free to GTC members. Non-members are welcome, space permitting, but will be subject to an entrance fee. Membership details can be seen at: www.gtc.org.uk
