Ireland's first online car retailer, AutoDirect.ie, has implemented professional lighting specialist Photon Beard's Highlight 220 fluorescent lampheads to ensure the highest photographic quality for online auto sales.
According to AutoDirect.ie Managing Director Anthony Gaffney: "For our retail cars to look their best we needed to soften the light and reduce reflections, so our photographic consultant, Bob Conn, brought in eight Photon Beard Highlight 220s. The results have been remarkable."
According to Conn: "I was originally going to use studio flash, but the Highlight lamps are a much better option. We're very impressed, not only with the quality of the lighting but the functionality. The lower running costs of fluorescents are also a significant advantage when you are photographing cars for extended periods of time."
Photon Beard's Highlight fluorescent lighting range is specifically designed for energy efficient studios. Energy efficient or "cool" lighting has many benefits for small and medium sized studios.
Running costs are substantially lower than tungsten lighting and the ability to change colour temperature quickly and easily by the simple replacement of a lamp or tube within the luminaire is another major advantage.
