Bravo Surfing With Hawaii Five-O

Bravo, part of Virgin Media Television, has announced the exclusive UK acquisition of CBS Studios International's Hawaii Five-0, an updated take on the iconic 1970s island cop drama.
In a massive coup for Bravo, the contemporary take on the classic series was one of the most eagerly awaited pilots at this year's LA Screenings and has generated a huge buzz worldwide among both fans and industry insiders.
The much-loved original was one of TV's most popular and longest running police dramas, famed for its catchphrase 'Book 'em Danno'.
Paying homage to the original, but stylistically action-packed with thrilling stunt sequences and a grittier tone, Hawaii Five-0 will premiere this autumn on both CBS and Bravo as part of their primetime schedules.
Shooting entirely on location in Hawaii this summer, the fast-paced series will be executive produced by Fringe creators and writers of the two Transformers films Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, along with CSI: NY Executive Producer Peter Lenkov.
The reboot will boast a new remixed version of what is arguably one of the most famous theme tunes in TV history.
The adrenaline-fuelled Hawaii Five-0 features an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands' sun-drenched beaches.
Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer turned cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father's murder and stays after Hawaii's governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket immunity to hunt down the biggest "game in town".
Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny 'Danno' Williams, a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline, and Chin Ho Kelly, an ex-Honolulu Police Detective wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol, who is also a former protégé of McGarrett's father.
McGarrett vows to bring closure to his father's case while the state's brash new FIVE-0 unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, is determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.
The deal was closed by Virgin Media TV's Head of Acquisitions Amy Barham, who commented: "Hawaii Five-0 was the stand-out show at this year's LA Screenings and securing it exclusively for UK audiences demonstrates yet again Bravo's commitment to owning the very best in primetime US dramas.
"The combination of impeccable casting, high octane action and super-sharp scripting ensures that Bravo viewers are certainly in for a treat this autumn with an extended long hot summer."
